Little Loves | January

Little Loves | January

January has been a busy month for uWe have Had a water leak, new oil heating being fitted and a kitchen refit along with the school application deadline and getting back into the working routine after a lovely family Christmas and new year.

Amongst all the upheaval there are have still been plenty of good bits, so here are my January little loves.

After completing my good reads challenge last year I have set a new one of reading 15 books this year.

I’ve started off pretty well this month finishing  The Christmas Sisters by Sarah Morgan and Bridget Jones’s Diary that I started reading in December and making a start on Why Mummy Swears by Gill Sims.

I read Why Mummy Drinks last year so couldn’t wait to get stuck into this one which I’m totally loving already.

Nothing new to share here. Although I’ve heard great things about the Netflix series You so want to give it a try

This is my favourite song at the moment, I literally listen to it every day.

Another song that I have heard a lot recently is Stevie Wonders Happy Birthday. I just happened to ask Alexa to play happy birthday when I was showing Olivia how it works and she has been doing it ever since.

Big jumpers and cosy scarves. It has been so cold we have been keeping well wrapped up.

I got Olivia this new Paw Patrol coat from Asda as it looked so warm and she has worn it every day since.

What with all the kitchen upheaval cooking has been very limited and no baking has taken place. Much to Olivia’s disappointment as she is desperate to try out some of the recipes in her unicorn cook book that she got for Christmas.

January did see us making a pretty decision about what school we would like Olivia to go to. I put off the school tours and completing the application for as long as I could but with the deadline looming we couldn’t put it off any longer.

For Christmas we decided to treat ourselves to merlin passes which we have been making the most of already. We have already visited the Shrek Adventure studio and the Sea Life London Aquarium. I can’t wait for lots of fun family days out

What are you most looking forward to this year?

I honestly didn’t realise Jess Glyne sang that song! Not sure where I have been!! I have Why Mummy Drinks on my wish list, didn’t realise there was a second one too. Merlin Passes are such a great idea, so many attractions come under their umbrella! You will definitely be making the most of that this year. Thank you so much for linking up. I hope you have a wonderful February x

‘You’ is fantastic! We’re three episodes in and loving it so far. It’s creepy but intriguing and I literally have no idea how it’s going to end. One of my girls got a unicorn baking book for her birthday at the start of December and she’s desperate to make some of the recipes out of it – I hope your kitchen is soon sorted so you can start working your way through it with your girl. And oh gosh, school applications. We went through it last year with my eldest going off to high school and my middle one goes in September – we find out in just over a month whether she’s got into the same school as her sister. It’s so nerve-wracking isn’t it?! Fingers crossed you get the school you applied for.

I would be happy with any of the four schools we put down, our main juggle I going to be trying to sort affordable wrap around care or reducing working hours. There’s just so much to think about but we will get there.

Merlin Passes sound like a fantastic idea! It will give you so many options for days out in the year. We’ve just renewed our local zoo membership and are thinking about signed up for a National Trust one – I’m longing for Spring! Hope February is good to you xx
